Roy Alderslade Signs With W2R Motorsport For 2019 Ginetta G40 Cup

Posted on Fri 15th Feb, 2019 in: Team News

W2R Motorsport are delighted to welcome Roy Alderslade back to the team this year as he mounts a full attack on the Ginetta G40 Cup, following an impressive debut in the championship during the 2018 season finale at Donington Park.

Alderslade, from Loughton in Essex, made his motorsport debut last year in the Ginetta Racing
Drivers Club and enjoyed a competitive campaign, getting in the battle for podium finishes as he
secured a best result of fourth on three occasions.

The 59 year old linked up with the W2R Motorsport team towards the end of the campaign and
went on to shine as he stepped up to the ultra-competitive G40 Cup ranks, beating a host of more
experienced drivers to qualify second fastest overall in his Woodford Heating backed machine.
Roy Alderslade: “I am looking forward to get back racing. It feels like a long break since we last
competed in Ginetta G40 Cup at Donnington Park, and I’m looking forward to the hustle on the race
track for my first full season in the G40 Cup.

“I am pleased to join Ben Hyland’s W2R Motorsport team, he runs a professional set up that I believe
has become a benchmark for other teams. After some close encounters, it would be great to get
some podiums chalked up this year, though of course I won’t be the only one with these aspirations!”
Ben Hyland: “We’re very excited to have Roy joining the team for 2019. He came on quickly as a
driver when running with us at the end of last year, both in GRDC and during his hugely impressive
debut in the Ginetta G40 Cup, qualifying on the front row.

“Roy is a great bloke, he fits nicely into the team and we’re going to enjoy racing with him this year.
He’s a good prospect for the season ahead, I anticipate he’ll be right up there battling at the front of
the pack and for wins in the Chairmans Cup.”

Interested parties should contact Ben on or 07779305353.
